A Caspian province in the North of Iran neighbouring Tehran province and Alborz mountains to the south,  Mazandaran is one of the most densely populated provinces an Iran, and a very popular holiday spot especially for Tehranis which frequently make the 5-hour drive for weekend get-aways or longer trips.
