Iran

Since 1999, when I visited the country for the first time, I have travelled frequently in Iran. Here you will find a collection of my pictures, spanning a period of about 20 years. I appreciate and welcome feedback on my pictures – just share your impressions of the places, people and captured moments with me.

I have ordered the pictures by province (see below), with the exception of one desert trips I made, where I encountered some of the most hospitable people. 

Among my favourite impressions is the liveliness of the Iranian bazaars and the unique characters of the street dealers along the way. See for example the bazaar in Tajrish, the Grand Bazaar of Tehran, the Friday market,  Darband, or the bazaars of Yazd, Semnan, Kashan, Chabahar and Zahedan.
