Konarak

Close to Konarak we took a small boat to a peninsula with sand dunes. Climbing the hot sand allowed for a terrific panoramic view.

Tang Mud Volcano

In the area of Tang we visited a mud volcano (one of the more touristic spots). However it was quite fascinating to observe the 'erupting' mud.

We had a quiet lunch break on one of  the beaches along the Gulf of Oman. Very unfortunate in this region – everywhere – are the huge amounts of (plastic) trash that can be found on the beach and are visible on the surface of the ocean.

From Chabahar to Gwatr

One of our day trips out of Chabahr led us to the border of Pakistan, on one of arguably most beautiful roads in Iran, lined on one side with the blue Indian Ocean and on the other with mountains all along the coast. A boat tour to see dolphins was not successful nonetheless this coastal area was definitely worth visiting, as it was different from the landscape in Qeshm or Hormoz.
