Esfahk
The village of Esfahk, severely damaged by earthquake in the 1970s, was deserted for decades as people moved to the 'modern' buildings provided by government in the aftermath of the earthquake. Until recently, when a group of motivated entrepreneurs and architects originally from the village set off to restore the village and the lost lifestyle that it offered. They turned it into an amazingly tasteful and original guesthouse, using the old substance, but strengthening the structure. They are also breathing fresh life into the local economy and culture by creating jobs and reviving old craftsmanship.
